Who We Are
Introduction
The Diocese of Same Development Department (DSDD) is the social and economic development arm of the Catholic Diocese of Same, located in the North-East of Tanzania. Our mission is to empower communities in Same and Mwanga districts through various community-based development initiatives aimed at improving quality of life, reducing poverty, and promoting sustainable development. We work hand-in-hand with communities, local leaders, and partner organizations to achieve positive social and economic transformation.
History
Established as part of the Catholic Diocese of Same’s commitment to holistic community development, DSDD has grown from small, localized projects into a department that oversees several initiatives impacting health, education, agriculture, environment, and more. Since its inception, DSDD has played a pivotal role in addressing the socio-economic challenges of the region, including food insecurity, lack of clean water, and limited access to quality education and healthcare.
