Distribution of Irrigation Rollers and Assessment of Cattle Breeds

The Diocese of Same Development Department (DSDD) successfully conducted the distribution of irrigation rollers to farmers while also carrying out an assessment of cattle breeds as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen agricultural productivity and improve livestock management within local communities.

The irrigation rollers were distributed to support farmers in adopting efficient irrigation practices, helping them improve crop production, conserve water, and increase resilience against changing weather conditions. The initiative aims to enhance sustainable farming practices and boost household food security and incomes.

Alongside the distribution exercise, DSDD technical staff assessed the cattle breeds owned by participating farmers. The assessment focused on evaluating breed characteristics, productivity, and overall health to identify opportunities for improved breeding, better livestock management, and increased production of meat and milk.
