SILC Training Conducted for Mang’a Group

The Diocese of Same Development Department (DSDD) conducted a Savings and Internal Lending Communities (SILC) training for the Mang’a Group to strengthen members’ capacity in group management and financial inclusion.

The training covered three key topics:

• Self-Awareness: Participants reflected on their personal values, strengths, responsibilities, and the importance of trust and discipline in achieving both individual and group goals.
• Importance of Groups: Members learned how working together promotes savings, access to small loans, mutual support, improved financial resilience, and sustainable community development.
• Leadership Selection in SILC: The session emphasized the qualities of effective leaders, transparent and democratic election processes, and the roles and responsibilities of leadership in ensuring accountability and the successful operation of the SILC group.

The interactive training encouraged active participation and experience sharing, equipping members with the knowledge and confidence to build a strong, transparent, and sustainable SILC group. DSDD remains committed to empowering communities through financial literacy and inclusive savings initiatives that improve household livelihoods and economic resilience.
