Post-Harvest Handling Training Conducted at Msindo Ward

The Diocese of Same Development Department (DSDD) successfully conducted a Post-Harvest Handling Training for farmers in Msindo Ward to enhance food quality, reduce post-harvest losses, and improve market opportunities.

The training equipped participants with practical knowledge and skills on proper harvesting techniques, sorting and grading of produce, drying methods, safe storage practices, packaging, and transportation. Farmers also learned the importance of maintaining quality standards to increase the value of their agricultural products and access better markets.

Through interactive discussions and practical demonstrations, participants gained a better understanding of how effective post-harvest management contributes to improved food security, reduced losses, and increased household income. The training encouraged farmers to adopt best practices that preserve the quality and nutritional value of their produce from harvest to market.
