Training on Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) at Raakati Sub-Village

Strengthening Organic Farming and Quality Assurance

DSDD conducted a training on the Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) at Raakati Sub-Village, aimed at enhancing farmers’ understanding of community-based organic certification and quality assurance practices.

The training focused on the principles and requirements of PGS, including compliance with organic standards, record keeping, internal inspections, peer reviews, and collective responsibility in maintaining the integrity of organic products. Participants learned how PGS promotes trust, transparency, and active participation among farmers while ensuring the production of safe and high-quality agricultural products.

Through interactive discussions and practical sessions, farmers gained knowledge on the benefits of organic farming and the role of PGS in improving market access and consumer confidence. The training also provided an opportunity for participants to share experiences and discuss strategies for strengthening organic production within their communities.
