Training on Crop Insurance and Follow-Up on Nursery Establishment and Management at Mpinji Group

Building Farmers’ Resilience and Strengthening Sustainable Agriculture

DSDD conducted a training session on crop insurance for members of the Mpinji Group, aimed at increasing farmers’ understanding of risk management strategies in agriculture. Participants learned about the importance of crop insurance in protecting their investments against losses caused by adverse weather conditions, pests, diseases, and other unforeseen challenges.

The activity also included a follow-up visit on the establishment and management of agricultural nurseries, where farmers received technical guidance on proper nursery practices, seedling care, watering, disease prevention, and management techniques to ensure healthy plant growth.

The training and follow-up support provided an opportunity for farmers to discuss challenges, share experiences, and receive practical recommendations for improving nursery performance and agricultural productivity. By combining crop insurance awareness with improved nursery management skills, farmers are better equipped to enhance their resilience, increase production, and secure sustainable livelihoods.
