Training on Crop Insurance and Follow-Up on Chicken Shelter Management at Kingondi Group, Mgagao Ward, Mwanga

DSDD conducted a training session on crop insurance and a follow-up visit on chicken shelter management for members of the Kingondi Group in Mgagao Ward, Mwanga District. The activity aimed to strengthen farmers’ resilience to agricultural risks while promoting improved poultry management practices for sustainable livelihoods.

During the training, participants learned about the importance of crop insurance as a tool for protecting farmers against losses caused by adverse weather conditions, pests, diseases, and other unforeseen challenges. Farmers were guided on the benefits of insurance coverage and how it can enhance agricultural productivity and financial security.

The follow-up session on chicken shelter management focused on assessing the progress made by group members in implementing recommended poultry housing practices. Discussions emphasized proper shelter construction, cleanliness, ventilation, disease prevention, and overall flock management to improve poultry health and productivity.

The training and follow-up visit provided an opportunity for farmers to share experiences, address challenges, and receive technical guidance to enhance both crop and poultry production.
