Grafting of Avocado Nursery Trees at Kikweni Preschool

The Diocese of Same Development Department (DSDD) continues to promote environmental conservation and sustainable agriculture through practical learning initiatives in schools and communities. Today, a successful activity on grafting avocado nursery trees was conducted at Kikweni Preschool.

The activity aimed to equip participants with knowledge and skills on proper avocado tree propagation techniques to improve fruit quality, productivity, and long-term environmental sustainability. During the session, participants learned the importance of grafting, nursery management practices, and how improved avocado varieties can contribute to household nutrition and income generation.

The initiative also encouraged children and the surrounding community to appreciate tree planting and environmental stewardship from an early age. By promoting fruit tree cultivation, DSDD continues to support community resilience, food security, and climate-smart agriculture practices within the Diocese of Same.

DSDD remains committed to empowering communities through sustainable agricultural practices and environmental conservation programs for a better future.
