Introduction of Church Land Project at Hedaru Parish

On the 29th of April 2026 a joint team from CADIOSA and Catholic Relief Services (CRS) visited Hedaru Parish to introduce the Church Land Project.

The CADIOSA team included Fr. Filbert Kasira (General Secretary), Mr. Leon Mvungi, Mr. Walter Lema, and Mr. Jose Msuya (Driver), while CRS was represented by Mr. Sunday Mohagachi. They were warmly received by Fr. Mlacha and three youth representatives from the parish.

The meeting focused on several key areas:

• Introduction of the project and its overall goal
• Identification of the land size, estimated at 15 acres
• Discussions on suitable types of trees to be planted
• Recommendations on establishing tree nurseries within the project area

As a way forward, the parish was tasked with preparing a strategic plan and submitting it to Mr. Leon Mvungi by Thursday.

This collaborative initiative marks an important step toward sustainable land use and environmental conservation, while actively engaging the local church community and youth in development efforts.
