Provision of Tree Seedlings and Training on Post-Harvest Techniques at Kileo Ward, Same
An integrated activity involving the provision of tree seedlings and training on post-harvest handling techniques was successfully carried out at Kileo Ward in Same District. The initiative aimed to promote environmental conservation while enhancing farmers’ capacity to manage their agricultural produce effectively.
During the activity, farmers were provided with tree seedlings to support afforestation, improve soil fertility, and contribute to climate change mitigation efforts. The importance of tree planting in sustaining agricultural productivity and protecting natural resources was emphasized.
In addition, participants received training on proper post-harvest handling techniques, including harvesting, sorting, storage, and preservation methods to reduce losses and maintain quality. Farmers were also introduced to basic value addition practices to improve the marketability of their produce.
