Training on Value Addition at Pangaro Village in Same District

The Diocese of Same Development Department (DSDD) successfully conducted a Training on Value Addition at Pangaro Village in Same District, aimed at empowering farmers and small-scale entrepreneurs with practical skills to improve the quality, marketability, and profitability of their agricultural produce.

The training brought together local farmers, women groups, and youth who are actively engaged in agricultural activities. Participants were equipped with knowledge and hands-on skills on:

  • Proper post-harvest handling techniques
  • Processing and preservation methods
  • Improved packaging and branding
  • Basic marketing strategies
  • Enhancing product quality to meet market standards

Through interactive sessions and practical demonstrations, participants learned how value addition can significantly increase income compared to selling raw produce. The training emphasized the importance of reducing post-harvest losses and creating market-ready products that can compete at local and regional levels.

This initiative aligns with DSDD’s commitment to strengthening community livelihoods and promoting sustainable economic development within Same District.

We extend our sincere appreciation to all participants for their active engagement and commitment to improving their economic well-being. Together, we continue to build resilient and self-reliant communities.
