🌽 Maize Seeds Distribution for Agricultural Production
The Diocese of Same Development Department (DSDD) successfully conducted a Maize Seeds Distribution activity aimed at enhancing agricultural production and strengthening food security among farming communities at Kighare Juu and Kifula Village in Same District.
The initiative targeted smallholder farmers to ensure timely access to quality maize seeds ahead of the planting season. During the distribution exercise, farmers were also guided on:
- Proper land preparation techniques
- Recommended planting spacing
- Application of organic and inorganic fertilizers
- Pest and disease management
- Best practices for improved maize yields
This support is part of DSDD’s continued commitment to improving household food security and increasing farmers’ incomes through sustainable agricultural practices.
Access to improved maize seeds is essential in boosting productivity, especially in areas affected by unpredictable weather patterns. By equipping farmers with quality inputs and practical knowledge, we are empowering communities to achieve better harvests and improved livelihoods.
🌱 Together, we cultivate hope, strengthen food security, and build resilient communities.
