✝️ Ash Wednesday 2026 – A Call to Prayer, Fasting, and Almsgiving

On Ash Wednesday 2026, the faithful across the world gathered to mark the beginning of the holy season of Lent — a sacred time of reflection, repentance, and spiritual renewal.

During the liturgical celebrations held in our parishes, Christians received ashes on their foreheads as a sign of humility and conversion. The words “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return” reminded us of our human fragility and our need for God’s mercy.

Ash Wednesday invites us to embark on a 40-day journey of:

  • Prayer – Deepening our relationship with God
  • Fasting – Practicing self-discipline and spiritual focus
  • Almsgiving – Extending love and compassion to those in need

This solemn day sets the tone for Lent, encouraging all believers to examine their lives, seek reconciliation, and grow closer to Christ.

DSDDD wishes all faithful Christians a blessed and fruitful Lenten season. May this sacred time renew our hearts, strengthen our faith, and inspire us to live in love and service to others.

May God’s grace guide us throughout this holy journey toward Easter. ✝️
